Acceptance - Don’t Make Distinctions

Jesus knows that people shrink back under indifference,
are wounded by prejudice, are hurt when they are rejected.
Prejudice handicaps everyone it touches; it allows fear to dress up as social and religious propriety; it sneaks its way into our laws.
It is a killer disease.
It is always good to remember that whoever we meet,
God has first loved them. So let us be challenged by the words of wisdom:
Our first task in approaching another people,
another culture, another religion is to take off our shoes
for the place we are approaching is holy.
Else we may find ourselves treading on another’s dream.
More serious still, we may forget that God was there before our
arrival.
(Denis McBride)

Liturgy Group – Work in Progress
A parish Liturgy group has recently been set up.

It comprises sixteen people:  The purpose of this group is to look into all aspects of the celebration of liturgy. In doing so to consider various forms of active participation and offer opportunities for a greater sense of engagement for the parish community. The group is currently organising for the recruiting and training of 'Cantors' and looking for ways and means of establishing a new choir. Our first priority is to address the situation of music in the Sunday Masses. There are two strands to this: firstly to encourage the congregation to participate in singing some of the familiar responses. This will happen through the introduction of 'Cantors' to lead the congregational responses. Secondly we are addressing the need to form a choir. For both of these we need singers and musicians.  For all these areas we are asking for volunteers. If you feel you could offer your services in any of these areas or if you need more information please contact any member of the group.
